Comprehensive Lab Testing for Better Health
At Lake Oswego Health Center, we provide a variety of lab tests to meet your health goals and support our evaluation for a correct diagnosis.
We offer food and nutrient level testing, heavy metal testing, extensive digestion testing, thorough hormone evaluation, longevity testing, genetic testing, and standard primary care labs. In addition to these we offer various toxicology testing, mold testing, and glyphosate levels.
Lab testing can be used to help identify and treat a variety of health conditions, as described below.
How Lab Testing Works
Depending on the lab test recommended by your doctor, you will be instructed on how to prepare for your test. This may include scheduling a blood draw at our clinic, taking a test at home with instructions, or going to a lab draw station. We thoroughly explain all tests before they are performed.
What We Test
Lake Oswego Health Center tests for:
Autoimmune Disorders: Thorough testing means looking not only at antibodies for the technical diagnosis but also at what is causing our bodies to create antibodies. This means taking into account digestive concerns, signs of chronic infections, toxin levels, and nutrient deficiencies. This is an example of how we use functional medicine to uncover the cause of your symptoms.
Food Allergies and Sensitivities: This is often done when patients experience bloating after meals, skin concerns, brain fog, or difficulty losing weight. Food sensitivity testing can help determine if you are eating a food that may be contributing to some of your health concerns.
Heavy Metals: Exposure to heavy metals can cause a range of acute and chronic toxic effects that can affect different organs in the body. This testing provides us with a picture of past and current exposures. This can be blood, urine, or hair depending on what we are looking for. Treatments may include chelation therapy, digestive support, or discovering the source, which might include a previously unrealized exposure or something from the workplace.
Hormone Testing: See Hormone Management page.
Nutrient Testing: Key lab tests give us insight into what you may be lacking in your current nutrition plan and help us make very accurate corrections.
Thyroid Testing: See Autoimmune and Thyroid Treatments page.
Inflammation/Immune Markers: We take a deep dive into inflammation and triggers that can dysregulate our immune system. This can lead to a better understanding for causes of fatigue, joint pain, chronic infections or brain fog. Standard lab tests miss the causes of many of our health concerns. If we detect early reasons for the changes we are feeling, we can often prevent future problems.
