Helpful Tips

Sun Protection: Guard your skin against harmful UV rays by incorporating sunscreen into your daily routine. Research from 2021 indicates that daily use of broad-spectrum sunscreen, containing antioxidants and anti-aging active ingredients, can effectively reduce extrinsic aging. Protect your skin, prevent premature aging, and reduce the risk of damage by making sunscreen a daily essential.

Hydration: Ensure your skin stays radiant by making hydration a priority. We recommend drinking plenty of water and using moisturizers tailored to your skin type. Traditional skincare often focuses solely on the skin’s surface, but new research emphasizes the importance of nurturing the skin’s microbiome for optimal skin health. We’re proud to collaborate with Biojuve products.

Skin Supporting Habits

Our skin is our bodies largest organ and it plays a vital role in health maintenance. Caring for our skin goes beyond our face, and spans into our underarms! Did you know that sweating is one of our bodies largest detoxification processes that even has the ability to prevent insulin resistance

Here at LOHC, we recognize that (while important) sweating can be a smelly business. That’s why we carry ozonated deodorant from Ozentials! These deodorants allow your body to perspire without the smell! Ozone is a powerful anti-bacterial that works to eliminate odors without the harmful aluminum or parabens found in most deodorants. Pick some up the next time you are in our clinic!

Nutrition for Skin Care

A well-balanced diet rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and essential nutrients contributes to overall skin health. Enhance your skincare routine by incorporating nutrient-rich foods like avocados, berries, and omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3’s (found commonly in fish) are skincare powerhouses. They are well-known for their anti-inflammatory effects that research has shown are beneficial to many skin diseases such as UV radiation, psoriasis, and dermatitis. If you aren’t a fish fan, that’s ok! Many nuts and seeds -such as chia and hemp seeds- pack a powerful omega-3 punch!
