Prolozone is a regenerative injection technique that was developed by Dr. Frank Shallenberger. The treatment can provide amazing relief for musculoskeletal pain, joint pain, chronic back pain, rotator cuff injuries, arthritis pain, degenerative disc issues, and much more. We are trying to heal the tissue and not just mask the cause of pain. We often don’t realize how our daily pain is affecting our lives. If you have chronic pain, check out the links at the bottom.
Injuries can’t completely heal without vitamins, minerals, and oxygen. Prolozone initially decreases pain as an analgesic. The oxygen/ozone increases circulation to aid in the healing process and we add vitamins and minerals to further complete this cycle. Most patients respond within 4-6 treatments.
During your visit you will have time to discuss with the doctor which type of injection therapy may benefit you.
If you are interested in prolozone injections you can read about them at Oxygen Healing Therapies and at The American Academy of Ozonotherapy.
You can also go to YouTube.com and search for some of Dr. Rowen’s videos of patient testimonials about ozone therapy. For example: You can search “ozone and arthritis”.

Patients need to establish care at our clinic. If you have a primary care provider or there are limited health concerns, we can usually treat you on the initial visit. If you have health insurance that covers the visit (please see the insurance benefit check form under services offered – FAQ/resources tab to check if you have coverage), there are additional fees for injectables that are not covered. We do offer a 20% cash discount for the office visits if patients do not have insurance coverage that works in our office. The cost will vary depending on the number of joints injected and amount of anesthesia and materials used.
It is helpful to bring any recent labs or x-ray (any imaging) reports that you have. There is typically 1-2 days of soreness that is minimal. Patients can go about their regular activity immediately after the injections. However, as patients feel better, it is recommended to continue their typical routines and not increase their activity level until cleared with the doctor. The number of visits depends on the degree of response, health of the patient, nutritional status and severity of the problem. It is typically 1-3 injections to start. I usually recommend repeating the injections in 2 weeks. The typical patient will feel better within 4-6 injections.
